4. Drive “productivity” and “quality” at all times
Prepare Replacements and Encourage Innovators
1. Share leadership roles within the team
2. Encourage leadership skills in team members
3. Reward those who pursue progress
4. Develop quality workers
Create Positive Expectancy and Model Expected Behaviors
1. Set high expectation levels, especially for young team members
2. Expect high standards and quality workmanship
3. Find consensus in decision-making
4. Manage risk-taking
5. Empower team members to succeed
Deal with Problem Team Members
1. Provide coaching to problem team members as soon as possible
2. Get creative with problem solving
3. Reserve the right to remove someone for a specific duty
4. Don’t reward poor work within unpopular tasks
