Team Leader

Team Leader is a multi-platform, episodic short form scripted comedy made for mobile, itunes and digital distribution. Its five minute episodes tell the story of two office slackers who have their lives turned upside-down by the untimely death of their Team Leader. Brooke, our meek hero, has power thrust upon him by the office matriarch much to the dismay of his roommate, co-worker and best friend Alice.

The creative team behind Team Leader brings with them a proven track record of success in short narratives and mobile production. Josh Budd (writer, CFC Alumni ‘05) and Chris Forrest (director) collaborated on the award-winning short comedy “From A to You,” while Christopher Guest (producer) and Scott Albert (writer, CFC Alumni ‘02) are behind the successful mobile comedy series “The Retired Porn Producer’s Guide To…” and "Tights and Fights"

Team Leader is a comedy about two friends who have never drawn a line between their professional and their personal lives. It’s an epic chronicle (in five minute chunks) of a generation that has totally accepted that, as Alice puts it, “You’re not supposed to be happy! It’s a job!” And yes, it is inspired by actual events. Sorta. This series is the first of its kind– a short comedy series with an open-ended plot and high production values. The Story...
Everything was going great for BROOKE and ALICE – office slackers, roommates, and BFF (best friends forever)…until the day Brooke finds himself thrust into the job of team leader – and Alice’s new boss. Suddenly, they’re not coasting through life anymore, and their relationship has changed forever. As Brooke struggles with his new responsibilities – like baking a cake for every office birthday, retirement, or paper-cut – Alice figures out a way to get even with Brooke… She’s not the only one with a scheme involving Brooke. First of all, he’s got a side deal going with their boss, ROXANNE, to keep her scandalous secret to himself. Then there’s REGGIE, a third wheel to Brooke and Alice, who has a hard on for public speaking and a need for less cake around the office – it really screws with his diet. And as if all that isn’t enough, Brooke finds himself in charge of a major client presentation that will make or break Connectrixx. The future of the whole company is riding on a guy who has never, not once in his life, strolled in earlier than 9:45…
